If you are planning on becoming an Australian citizen, contact the Department of Home Affairs for guidance on applying for citizenship.
The Department of Home Affairs can arrange your citizenship application, interview, test and approval process.
Once your citizenship application is approved by the Department of Home Affairs, the City of South Perth will send you an invitation to a Citizenship Ceremony, where you will become an Australian citizen.
The City of South Perth host Citizenship Ceremonies four times a year in January, April, June and Sept of each year.
The City invites conferees to a Citizenship Ceremony and if they wish to change their Ceremony date, they need to notify the City first.

Please be aware that the Department of Home Affairs is solely responsible for the allocation of recipients, to be invited to Citizenship Ceremonies (NOT the City).
The City of South Perth only receives listings of allocated recipients approximately 5-weeks before each scheduled ceremony. Approved citizenship applications will be referred to local Councils in approval date order.

The Department of Home Affairs handles all enquiries related to the citizenships, including:

Reissue of certificates if they have been lost.
Changes of address or contact details ( i.e moving to the City or moving out of the City).
Requests for an urgent ceremony.
