Mobile CCTV trailer

The City has a mobile CCTV trailer that can be deployed to various sites around the local community to assist with community safety and crime prevention. For example, this trailer can be used:
  • at locations where criminal activity/anti-social behaviour has occurred or may occur in the future
  • to support police investigations
  • for emergency management purposes
  • community events etc.

Request for temporary deployment of the CCTV trailer

  • Priority locations for the mobile CCTV trailer will be determined by the City's Community Safety Group and Police.
  • People in the community can make a written request to the City for temporary deployment of the CCTV trailer to a local site, detailing the location and purpose/rationale.
  • The City will assess CCTV trailer requests and make a decision using a decision-making matrix to prioritise locations according to actual and/or perceived 'impact' and 'urgency'.
  • Impact - Locations with current or previous criminal or anti-social behavioural incidents that affected (or is likely to affect) a larger group of people with a critical outcome would be assessed as 'high impact'.
  • Urgency - The City will also determine if a requested CCTV location is time-sensitive. Locations that require immediate action will be deemed more urgent, whereas locations that can wait will be deemed less urgent.
  • The City reserves the right to approve or decline a request based on City requirements.
  • To make a request for the CCTV trailer, please 'Request CCTV Trailer Deployment' below and outline the address of the requested site for the CCTV trailer, and describe the community safety purpose/rationale of the request.
