Reporting of issues with manholes/pits.

Urgent requests

If the manhole or pit is causing a hazard/public safety issue, please contact the City on 9474 0777 to report your request. You can call this number 24 hours a day for urgent/high priority assistance.

Council manholes/pits

  • The City is responsible for the maintenance of City owned manholes and pits.
  • City manholes most typically do not have any branding on them and will usually be stormwater drainage.
  • Any issues with City owned manholes and pits can be reported by raising a request below.

Other manholes

  • Other utilities are responsible for the maintenance of their own manholes.
  • These can typically be identified by their logo/branding eg. Western Power, Water Corporation.
  • If you are unsure of the asset owner, please call the City on 9474 0777 so that an Officer can review the location and determine ownership.
  • If the manhole is causing a hazard/public safety issue, please report it to that organisation as a matter of priority. You can also report it to the City by calling 9474 0777.

Main Roads

  • While Main Roads WA is generally responsible for the roads and drainage on main roads, some of the City's stormwater pits exist within these road areas.
  • Verges, footpaths and City stormwater drains on main roads are the responsibility of the City.
