Public art

The City of South Perth values public art as a means of celebrating the identity and history of the community, enhancing the environment and contributing to a sense of place. The City has a growing inventory of distinct and diverse public artworks that celebrate and contribute to our unique culture. The works are generally sculptural or mural in form and are permanently on display throughout the City. Some of the works are owned by the City and some are on private land, but are accessible to the public.

The City's public art map is an accessible resource with information about past, present and anticipated public artworks within the City.

The interactive map shows the location of artworks, and provides images and basic information about them. You can select to view information in one of four layers, depending on your interests:

Artwalk Mindeerup

Mindeerup is a gateway to all kinds of experiences on the South Perth Foreshore. Along with an unrivalled view of the Perth City skyline, the Swan River, green open spaces, Perth Zoo and the shopping and dining in Mends Street, this part of Perth is home to some great public art. The Mindeerup Artwalk takes you on a self-paced guided tour of public art, starting and ending in the heart of Mindeerup. You will be introduced to works of contemporary art that tell stories of the world's oldest continuing culture using new materials and technologies.

Expressions of interest

The City of South Perth regularly seeks Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from partners who would like to be involved in the City's arts, cultural activities and events. Event organisers, community groups, businesses, performing and visual artists are invited to submit events and activities for possible inclusion at intervals throughout the year.

Partnership opportunities include:

Events, place activations, artwork installations, workshops, other public activities held at different locations over the year
