Rates Payments

Information on how to pay rates as well as other payment based information.

Instalments

Ratepayers can pay rates in either one, two or four instalments. To qualify for the instalment option, any arrears, plus the full amount of the first instalment must be paid by the date of the first instalment as identified on the rate notice.
Payments not received by the first instalment date will attract a late payment interest charge.

Pay online

Payments can be made quickly and securely online with a credit or debit card via Pay my Rates Online below.
Please ensure you have your rates assessment number, BPAY reference number (for validation purposes only) and the correct amount prior to making your payment.

Pay by instalment

To pay rates online by instalment, input the correct instalment amount shown in the Payment Options section of your rates notice.
To qualify for instalment payments, you must make the first instalment payment of the exact amount specified on your rate notice by the due date.

Assessment number and BPAY reference number

Assessment number
Your assessment number is your reference number required to pay online. This can be found at the top right of your rates notice as per the example below.
BPAY reference number
You are required to provide your full BPAY reference number to validate your payment. This can be found on the bottom left of your rates notice as per the example below.

Validation purposes only

The BPAY reference number is required for validation purposes only. Please input this number (without the spaces) to validate your information.

Post Office

Pay in person at your local post office by cash or card. Find your local post office here.

City of South Perth Civic Centre

Pay in person at the City of South Perth office between 8.30am-4.30pm. The City welcomes payment by cheque, money order, debit or credit card (Mastercard & Visa).
Please note, cash payments are not accepted at the City of South Perth Civic Centre.

BPAY

Pay by BPAY via your Financial Institution. (Minimum payment: $2. Maximum payment: $100,000).

Post Billpay

Pay by telephone via Post Billpay by calling 13 18 16.

By mail

Send a cheque or money order to: City of South Perth, Cnr Sandgate St and South Tce, South Perth WA 6151. Please do not send cash in the mail.

Late payment of first instalment

If you are wanting to pay by instalments, however you are unable to make the first payment on time, please contact the City on 9474 0777 to discuss options prior to the first instalment due date.

Pay by special arrangement

The City understands that sometimes people experience financial hardship which makes it difficult to meet all financial commitments when they are due. We are happy to work with you to develop a mutually acceptable payment arrangement.
Please contact the City on 9474 0777 to discuss your options. You will be asked to complete a Rates Payment Arrangement Application and submit via a request below before the special arrangement can be approved.
Please note that this option will also incur an administration fee. Please refer to the fees and charges.
