Abandoned trolleys
- Shopping trolleys taken outside of shopping precincts can be hazardous and unsightly.
- Abandoned trolleys often obstruct the road or footpath and have the potential to cause damage to property or may end up in local waterways, causing build up of debris and restricting water flow.
Council process
- The City will lodge the complaint with the relevant trolley tracker service.
- If the abandoned trolley is not collected promptly, a City officer will collect it.
- The City also liaises directly with retailers in an effort to ensure abandoned trolleys are responded to quickly.
You are encouraged to report the abandoned shopping trolley to the relevant trolley tracker services as per locations below. If the trolley has not been collected within two working days of reporting, you can report this issue below.
Coles, Kmart and 1st Choice Liquor

- To report an abandoned trolley (not been collected after two working days of reporting to the trolley tracker service) please raise a request below.
- Please include the date you reported the trolley to the relevant service and how you reported it (online or in person).
- An officer will investigate within the next 48 hours.
