Domestic animals
- The City will collect dead domestic animals including dogs, cats and livestock, from public places and attempt to contact the owner wherever possible.
- To advise the City of a deceased animal requiring collection from a public place, please raise a request below.
Wildlife
- The City will collect dead native wildlife from public places.
- Please note, if the dead animal is located in our natural areas and is small, then it is best for the environment to leave it where it is.
- Natural areas that are not regularly frequented are not regularly maintained by the City. For this reason, typically dead native wildlife can be left for natural decomposition to occur.
- If the dead animal is creating a smell or is large and most likely will create a smell in a regularly accessed area, please request a collection below.
Family pets
- It is the owners responsibility to make their own arrangements for the death of a family pet.
- To notify the City of the death of a registered family pet and update your registration details, please raise a cancel animal registration request.
