  • Greywater discharge onto streets,
  • Runoff from construction sites or
  • Swimming pool discharge onto streets.

Sewerage overflows

Public Places If you are observing sewerage overflowing onto a public place, please report it below. Private Property Refer to the Water Corporation website for information and guidance on sewerage issues within private property. Please note - if the issue is urgent or posing a hazard, please contact Water Corporation on 13 13 75 for an urgent response.

Greywater recycling or diversion systems

Greywater is wastewater from baths, showers, spas, bathroom basins, washing machines and laundry tubs. Greywater is a resource that can be used to irrigate gardens and lawns, and for internal household use such as toilet flushing and laundry use when treated adequately. Kitchen greywater must be treated before use as it can contain elevated levels of grease, oil and detergent. A greywater system is classified as a type of sewage disposal system, therefore must be approved and licensed through the Department of Health (DoH). Once licensed by DoH, the City is responsible for greywater system installation and operation approvals. If you wish to install a greywater recycling or diversion system, you must first submit an application to construct or install an apparatus for the treatment of greywater to the City for assessment, in compliance with council and state government requirements.

Discharge onto the street

Greywater must not run onto driveways or any hard surfaces where it can run into the street and into stormwater drains. If you are observing greywater being discharged onto the street, please report it below.
