Reporting illegals signs within the City.

Illegal signs
- The City's Rangers monitor and attend to illegal signs and goods placed within the City and can impose on-the-spot fines for offenders and impound the items.
- It is an offence under the City's Public Places and Local Government Property Local Law 2011 for any sign to be erected on Local Government property without prior approval from the City.
Unauthorised advertising signs
- Unauthorised advertising signs are typically the advertising signs found at medians and busy intersections.
- No permissions have been granted for these signs.
Real Estate home open signs
The City is aware of the need to advertise home opens and permits home open signs being displayed under the following guidelines:
- Only be displayed during the times the display home or homes to which the sign is directed is open to the public, plus up to:
- three (3) hours prior to the commencement of the home open; and
- two (2) hours after the conclusion of the home open.
- Is placed in a safe and unobtrusive spot that does not present any danger to the residents or our community.
Signs on verges
- Residents are not allowed to place signs on verges without prior City approval.
- A resident is able to report vehicles parked on a person's verge without permission, therefore registered verge or no parking signs are not required and is not permissible.
Impounding signs
- Officers will attempt to contact relevant parties and request removal of the sign in the first instance
- If the sign is not removed, or we are unable to trace the owner, then the sign will be impounded
- Impounded sign will be held for two months and then disposed if not collected.
Collection of impounded signs
- An impounded sign will be released back to the owner after payment of the impound fee
- Fees are payable at the City of South Perth Civic Administration office, corner of Sandgate Street and South Terrace, South Perth
- The sign can then be collected from Ranger Services located at 199 Thelma Street, Como. Proof of payment is required upon collection.
