Request to temporarily use the verge for building materials, skip bins and sea containers.

Use of verges
Approval is required when seeking permission to temporarily use the verge for the storing of:
- building materials
- skip bins.
Sea containers
Sea containers can only be stored within the property boundary and are not allowed to be stored on the verge or road.
Building materials
- Builders can apply for a licence to deposit building materials on the verge
Skip bins
- Residents can request to temporarily place a skip bin on the verge by raising a request below
- Skip bins must not obstruct neighbouring driveways or footpaths and must not create a sightline issue
- Skip bins are also to be emptied regularly to ensure that they do not overflow
- The City recommends that plans are discussed with neighbours to ensure a mutual understanding of the timing and extent of the works, to help avoid disputes and potential complaints.
