Important guidelines for kerb side rubbish collection:

Place your bin on the kerb by 6am on the day of collection.
Place your bin one metre (1m) from the road ensuring the lid opens to the road.
Bin lids should be closed and not overflowing to prevent unwanted pests.
Your green and yellow lid bins should be placed a half metre (0.5m) apart to ensure that the hydraulic arm on the collection vehicle is able to reach, lift and empty your bins.
Do not place your bins under a tree canopy.
All bins should be returned to your property within 24 hours of service.

Green Lid Bin - Weekly

Your green lid bin is for general domestic rubbish. Store your bin in a shaded area if you can and clean regularly with hot soapy water. Always wrap moist and perishable food items in newspaper, particularly in the summer months.

Hot ashes or coals
Electrical items
Car parts including tyres
Gas bottles, pressure vessels and aerosol cans
Hazardous waste - petrol, flammables, paints, solvents, batteries (including lithium-ion batteries), chemicals, poisons, medical waste, acids and radioactive materials
All building materials bricks, sand, concrete, tiles, rocks, asbestos
Flares and all battery operated devises (disposable vapes, electric toothbrushes and smoke detectors)

Recycling Yellow Lid Bin - Fortnightly

Your yellow lid bin is for recycling. All recyclables should be loose and not in plastic bags.

What can I put in my yellow lid bin?

Glass bottles and jars - clean and empty - lids off
Plastic bottles and containers - clean and empty - lids off
Paper, newspaper, office paper, magazines, junk mail and phone books (no shredded paper)
Drink cartons including fruit juice and milk cartons (no silver-lined 'long-life' cartons)
Steel and aluminium cans - clean and empty (no other metal items of any kind)
Cardboard - remove contents and flatten
Metal lids may be put in yellow lid bins, but must be removed from their containers first

What can’t I place in my yellow lid bin?

Material in bags (any recyclable material should be placed loose in the bin)
Plastic bags and light plastic film such as cling wrap
Nappies
Plate glass or broken glass
Clothes or other textiles
Garden waste and food waste
Gas bottles
Aerosols
Polystyrene
Meat trays
China, porcelain or pottery
Liquids of any kind
Ropes, cables and garden hose pipes
Non-metal lids
Plastic lids (these may be dropped off at the Recycling Centre)
Batteries, including lithium-ion batteries (commonly found in disposable vapes, electric toothbrushes and smoke detectors).

Assisted bin service

Residents who are unable to physically move their bins to and from the kerbside due to disability or illness can apply for a gopher or assisted household bin service.

Bin stickers

You can promote road safety within the community by placing a 'Please Slow Down' sticker on your bin. Collect these stickers from the Civic Centre.

Bin days
