Urgent requests

If an abandoned vehicle is causing a significant obstruction or is a safety issue e.g. blocking traffic, please report it by contacting the City on 9474 0777. You can call this number 24-hours a day for any obstructions or safety issues.

Abandoned vehicles

Vehicles left in a public place, on a carriage way or in a road reserve for more than 24 hours may be considered abandoned.

The City will investigate reports of abandoned vehicles within City boundaries.

Abandoned vehicles on private property

For vehicles left within private properties:

Contact the Police to check that the vehicle is not stolen, or a vehicle of interest
If the vehicle is not stolen or of interest, the owner is responsible to have it removed.

Please note, this also applies to organisations who have Private Parking Agreements with the city.

Investigation process

If a vehicle is unregistered or deemed to be abandoned, the City will attempt to locate the owner in the first instance.
If unable to locate the owner, the City may impound the vehicle.

Collecting impounded vehicles

To collect an impounded vehicle you will be required to:

Check your vehicle has been impounded by contacting the City on 9474 0777
Pay all City fees and charges incurred, at the City of South Perth Civic Administration Office:
Note, you will be required to provide photo identification and proof of ownership when paying the fine
A receipt will be provided upon payment. Please ensure you retain this receipt for collection
Contact Pickles Auction House on 1300 052 392 to arrange collection of your vehicle:
Note, you will be required to pay storage charges with Pickles, which can be confirmed with them prior to collection
Pickles Auction House is open Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
Show your receipt upon collection at the Pickles Auction House, Cnr Phoenix Rd & Sudlow Rd, Bibra Lake.

Illegal parking

If the vehicle being reported is illegally parked, please proceed with an Illegal Parking request instead.
