What are pests?
The City's Environmental Health team investigate reports of:
- mosquitoes
- rats/mice
- bees
Pests from private land
- The City will investigate pests that are coming from a neighbouring private property.
- This does not include pests that are coming from your own property. It is your responsibility to resolve this yourself.
- When reporting the issue, please ensure you indicate where the pests are coming from to assist with the investigation.
- Please note, if you require a beehive to be collected, you will need to contact an apiarist to assist as the City is unable to remove beehives.

Beekeeping
- Two hives per property are permitted to be kept in accordance with the City's Local Laws.
- If you keep bees, place hives in a suitable area (preferably where the bees will fly high and not be a nuisance) and provide plenty of water.
- You must make request to the City to keep bees. Please mark on a site map of your property where the hive/s will be placed in relation to the house and boundary fences.
