Bonds

A Road Reserve Access Bond (RRAB) is a bond payable on all demolition and building applications. If any damage or other problems occur with the demolition/construction, that are not rectified upon completion of the building/demolition licence (e.g. Notice of Completion) charges for these shall be taken from the bond.

Damage

The bond applies to everything in the street that is directly associated with the property, including:
  • The footpath
  • Street trees
  • Crossings (crossovers)
  • Drains and gullies (including manhole covers)
  • Verges
  • Concrete kerbs
  • Sweeping of roads (sand spills)
  • Hazard signs for 'pedestrians beware' (charged at a daily rate)
  • Service pits e.g. Telstra, Water Corporation or any other service utilities.

Bond not transferable

The bond is non-transferrable. For example, you can't transfer a bond from a demolition application to a building application. A separate bond is required with each application.
