Ovals, parks, reserves & natural areas maintenance

The City is responsible for the maintenance of all ovals, parks, reserves and natural areas under its care and control.

Types of maintenance

Park, reserve and natural area maintenance requests include:
  • mowing requests within park areas;
  • maintenance to parks, reserves and natural areas;
  • maintenance of lakes;
  • maintenance to park gardens; and
  • maintenance to signs, bollards, gates or fencing around parks, reserves and natural areas.

Other maintenance within parks and reserves

Wood debris

  • The Natural Areas team as well as volunteers remove dead wood and green waste from parks and reserve areas.
  • Depending on the location, the City may decide to leave some larger pieces of wood debris as habitat areas for native wildlife.
  • This helps provide a refuge for a large number of animals, including snakes, lizards and ground-dwelling mammals etc.
